Our Mission

The Lorton Heritage Society is a non-profit organization of individuals interested in the preservation and expansion of knowledge about the historical and cultural heritage of Lorton, with geographical focus on the Occoquan River and Pohick Bay areas.

Our Goals

• To collect, catalog and preserve documents, oral histories and other physical material related to the heritage of the Lorton community;

• To promote and protect the heritage of the Lorton area;

• To sponsor history programs and activities for the education and enrichment of students and citizens;

• To publish information about the history of Lorton;

• To provide resources for those interested in the heritage of the Lorton Community;

• To raise funds for the promotion and preservation of the heritage of the Lorton community.
